The SEAI have produced a neat little iPhone app which helps you manage and hopefully reduce your energy bill.
Modern low energy light bulbs save money and the enviroment. It's one of the easiest ways to save on energy in the home.
Savings are estimated at €9 per bulb per year. Over the life of the bulb this can equate to €90 per bulb.
LEDs are even better!
You know what they are but you might not know that there are many different types.
Having clever heating controls in your house can save you significantly on your heating bill.
In Ireland we use evacuated tube and flat plate panels for heating water. Photovoltaic are used for generating electricity.
Having solar panels is good for your BER and there are some grants available from the SEAI.
We recommend 2 heating zones and seperate hot water all controlled by thermostats. Multizone space heating, and time and temperature control of your hot water is good for the BER and your pocket. With grants for these upgrades there is no reason not to.
